I absolutely love to paint and construct crafts with my kindergarten kiddos, but I rarely have time. I did however have time to do a quick ADORABLE Valentine with them.

I thought these turned out absolutely adorable! All you needs is cardstock, red paint, and two little hands!

Yesterday wore me out! The kiddos were soooo excited about V-day and absolutely loved their crayons I made! yay!

My sweet valentine sent me beautiful roses to work. :) We enjoyed dinner at home together...pizza and wings oh yeah! ;) The hubby loves Krispy Kreme doughnuts, so I gave him the heart shaped ones I found at Walmart!

With Valentine's Day and every other holiday I eat my weight in chocolate and sweets!!!!! I've decided to STOP (if I can) and try really hard to eat fruit if I want something sweet. We'll see how long it lasts! I'm completely miserable from all the junk I ate yesterday bleh!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm super excited to spend the evening eating pizza and chicken wings tonight with my valentine! ;)
Today will be super busy at school! The kiddos are so excited to pass out their "valentimes" and have the party! This year we're having a "healthier" menu selection. Instead of all sweets, we're going to have other options such as fruit, veggies, nuts, string cheese, and sugar cookies! I really promote healthy eating in my classroom. I think children need to learn how to make healthy choices at an early age. Sometimes, we have a contest to see who has brought in the healthiest snack!

This year for Valentine's Day I didn't go out and spend a bunch of money on treat bags for my kiddos. Thanks to Pinterest I found an awesome way to use old crayons! A week or so ago, I had my kids pick out their old broken crayons from their crayon boxes. I ended up getting a great big container full of crayon pieces that would have ended up in the trash. I told them I was going to take their old crayons  and make something new! I went ahead and tied in the reuse and recylcing concept and little early this year. ;)

All you need is a muffin pan or some sort of silicon mold. I wanted to use a heart mold, but couldn't find one reasonably priced so I used my muffin pan and it was it to clean up. Set your oven at 250 degrees and they take about 10 or so minutes to melt! I have $0 in this cool project for my kiddos and they are going to love them!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Friends!

Today hasn't started off too happy. The hubs and I were woke up by a very sick pup :( We're pretty sure he's allergic to chicken which means everytime we make it (and he doesn't even eat it) he gets extremely sick. I guess no more chicken for us for a while! So I've been awake since around 4am which isn't going to go over well this afternoon when my kindergarten kiddos are napping and my eyes start to get heavy! Actually, it will probably hit me this evening! I better go grab my morning pick me up (extra bold coffee) so I can get my morning started!

Oh and by the way here is the YUMMY chicken recipe that I made over the weekend, but don't consider it if your pup is allergic! ick!

Rolled Oat Chicken

-2 tablespoons canola oil
-2 teaspoons chili powder
-1 teaspoon garlic powder
-1 teaspoon ground cumin
-3/4 teaspoon salt
-1 1/2 cupos of quaker oats uncooked
-1 egg lighty beaten
-1 tablespoon water
-4 boned and skinned chicken breast halves

Preparation

Heat oven to 375F. In flat, shallow dish stir together oil, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, and salt. Add oats, stirring until evenly moistened

In a separate bowl, beat egg and water until frothy. Dip chicken into egg mixture, then coat chicken in oat mixture. Place chicken on foil lined baking sheet. Put any extra mixure on top of chicken.

Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked thorough and oat coating is golden brown.

This is yummy and very healthy!!!! :) Enjoy!
